On 01st of July 2014 at the Public Health Institute of the Republic of Srpska, BiH, in Banja Luka was organized the Meeting of Sentinel Doctors.
On 21 June 2014 the Annual Influenza meeting was held in Sandanski, Bulgaria. The Meeting was attended by experts from the Ministry of Health; Bulgarian Food Safety Agency; Veterinary Institute; Bulgarian Society for Innovative Medicine (NGO); representative of WHO Office, Sofia.
The meeting was opened by Dr. Valery Tzekov, MD, Bulgarian Society of innovative medicines.
On 20 May 2014 at the IPH of Kosovo* was held the meeting of sentinel doctors. The doctors were selected from sentinel centers, (Pristina region, Prizren region and NIPH) determined after few criteria: results of evaluation of routine surveillance system, the number of patients and number of population in these regions
This activity took place within the framework of the Project “Surveillance and Response to Avian and pandemic Influenza by National Health Authorities of Countries of South East Europe”.
A Study visit to Slovenia has been organized from 14th to 15th of May 2014 by the Kosovo* team of Influenza Project.
The aim of the study visit was to learn from organization and implementation of Influenza Surveillance in Slovenia. The Kosovo team met experts from Institute of Public Health – Ljubjana and from Slovenia NIC.

On 6th of June 2014 the Albanian NGO “STOP AIDS” conducted a consultative meeting about the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) of Infective Agents in Albania.
The aim of the meeting was to identify the priorities and the steps to be followed in order to building up a Program on PMCT of Infective Agents in Albania
WHO/Europe has been holding annual influenza surveillance meetings jointly with the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) since 2011. This meeting brings together epidemiologists and virologists – the national influenza surveillance focal points – from 50 Member States to discuss national, regional and global surveillance related to seasonal influenza and novel influenza viruses, such as avian influenza A(H7N9).
Within the framework of the Project “Surveillance and Response to Avian and pandemic Influenza by National Health Authorities of Countries of South East Europe”, the supervision of influenza sentinel sites was carried out in Montenegro.
This activity took place from 27 May to 5 June 2014, in different health care institutions in Montenegro, such as: General Hospitals; Special Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases and Tuberculosis; Clinical Centre of Montenegro; Primary Health Care Centers.
The National Institute of Public Health (INSP), Romania - The National Centre for Communicable Diseases Surveillance and Control, in collaboration with INCDMI Cantacuzino, organized a national workshop for medical epidemiologists involved in ARI, ILI and SARI surveillance, on 30 May 2014.
