The WorldLeish-6 Congress has been held from 16 to 20 May 2017 in Toledo, Spain. It was co-organized by the WHO Collaborating Centre for Leishmaniasis at the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, Madrid and the Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative, Geneva.
Congress was the largest conference on leishmaniasis with 1,000 attendees from more than 60 countries. Participants came from the countries most affected by leishmaniais. Two representatives of SECID took part at the Congress.
Congress addressed issues ranging from molecules to disease control, with the patient as the main focus. WorldLeish6 covered a number of the key scientific and policy aspects of the many forms of leishmaniasis: visceral, cutaneous, mucocutaneous and post kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis.
