In the framework of the fifth year implementation of the Project ‘Surveillance and response to avian and pandemic influenza’, funded by Center of Disease Control Prevention (CDC), on 11-12 October 2017, in Albania was organized a workshop to enhance and strengthen the surveillance of SARI in Tirana.
The objective of the workshop was:
- To present the findings of the evaluation of the SARI surveillance which could lead to a more detailed understanding of how well the system is functioning, whether all sites are functioning in a satisfactory manner and where the system might benefit from updated training, data management and analysis support, or other activities for the purposes of annual monitoring and quality improvement;
-To assist in the systematic, standardized review of influenza sentinel site surveillance systems and to provide a guide for identifying problems and designing solutions to provide support.
-To assess basic performance indicators in order to provide quality technical assistance, feedback, and recommendations for changes in order to achieve system goals.
