2014 will be very intensive for the SEE Health Network

On 30 and 31 January 2014 the Executive Committee of the SEE Health Network held its Extraordinary Meeting in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia which was organized in an examplary way by the colleagues of the Serbian Ministry of Health.

Very important decisions were taken and are to be implemented in 2014 within the frameworks of several key regional and European policies, strategies and action plans towards 2020, namely: 

  • the EU 2020 Policy;
  • the SEE 2020 Growth Stategy;
  • the WHO Europe 2020 Policy Framework, and
  • the WHO Europe Action PLan for Straengthening the Public HEalth Capacities and Services.

SECIDS, being the SEE Health Network Regional Development Center for communicable diseases surveillance and control will have to play an important and very active role, together with other regional initiatives in the ares of agriculture, food industry, tourism, food control agencies the veterinarial and phytosanitarian services and the Central European Free Trade Agreement, in implementing several  of the important objectives and measures of the SEE 2020 Growth Strategy and particularly in the area of creating "Free Trade Zone" in the SEE region while securing full protection of the health of the region´s population.
