On May 14th a technical meeting to discuss the possibilities of building a country and regional integrated web based Influenza Information System was organized at the SECID offices - IPH, Tirana, Albania. This activity was planned within the framework of the Project “Surveillance and Response to Avian and pandemic Influenza by National Health Authorities of Countries of South East Europe”.
The participants in the meeting were epidemiologists from IPH Albania; a representative of Health Insurance Fund, Albania; specialists from NIPH Croatia and NIPH Montenegro; SECID representatives and SECID IT team – 14 in total.
The agenda was as follows:
- Main components of Influenza Information System – Dr.Silvia Bino, SECID, IPH, Albania
- Influenza surveillance and information systems – Country’s experiences – Dr.Vladimir Drazenovic , NIPH, Croatia; Dr.Senad Begic, NIPH, Montenegro; Dr.Artan Simaku, NIPH, Albania
- Developing a core model for a country and regional integrated web based Influenza Information System (InIS) – Ms.Doriana Delija; Mr.Klaidi Bido
After the discussions, the next steps to be taken were designed.
To prepare the above mentioned meeting a preliminary one was organized to exchange ideas about the Influenza Web Platform.
