Influenza Activities, 23-24 February in Kosovo*

 

 

 

 

 

Influenza activities were organized in Kosovo* during February, in the framework of the Project “Surveillance and Response to Avian and Pandemic Influenza’, funded by Centre of Disease Control Prevention (CDC).

“Annual Influenza season Meeting”, on 23 February 2018 gathered together specialist from sentinel Sites, Epidemiologist, Infectologist, Pediatrician, specialist   from IUC, Pulmologist and GP.

During the meeting the main topics discussed were:

-Importance of timely reporting

-Sentinel needs and problems during this session

-Epidemiological situation

-Virus characteristics during this season in Kosovo comparing with other countries

 

Another meeting regarding Influenza Surveillance was held in Kosovo* on 24 February.

“Training /retraining on Influenza surveillance and outbreak coordination” (including new possible sentinel sites), was organized in order to strengthen   influenza surveillance, coordination of case management between relevant institutions and sentinel sites, management of surveillance data, reporting system and outbreak coordination.
